Assigment 7 : Chapter 7:Storing Organizational Information (Database)

Now, i will write about the organizational information that stored in the database. It's an application programs such as supply chain management systems and customer relationship management systems, access the data in the database so the program can consult it to answer queries.

1.WHAT IS DATABASE?
Database is  an organized collection of data. The data is typically organized to model relevant aspect of reality. For an example , the availability of room in hotels.
The term database is correctly applied to the data and their supporting data structures, and not to the database management system (DBMS). The database data collection with DBMS is called a database system.
The term database system implies that the data is managed to some level of quality (measured in terms of accuracy, availability, usability, and resilience) and this in turn often implies the use of a general-purpose database management system (DBMS).

2.EVALUATE THE ADVANTAGE OF THE RELATIONAL DATABASE MODEL

The relational database organizes data in a series of tables. Each table has its own fields specific to the type of data being stored. The database management system (DBMS) designed around the relationships between tables has survived more than two decades because of its flexibility. Once the user enters data into a table and saves it in the massive database, a query will recall the information at any time.

  • A relational database supports relational algebra, consequently supporting the relational operations of the set theory.
  • Relational databases support an important concept of dynamic views.A relational database supports access permissions, which allow the database administrator to implement need-based permissions to the access of the data in database tables.
  • Relational databases include their performance, power, and support to new hardware technologies as also flexibility and a capacity to meet all types of data need.

3.DEFINE DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM and ITS RELATIONSHIP TO A WEBSITE.
  •  A Database Management System (DBMS) is a set of programs that enables you to store, modify, and extract information from a database.
  • It also provides users with tools to add, delete, access, modify, and analyze data stored in one location.
  • A group can access the data by using query and reporting tools that are part of the DBMS or by using application programs specifically written to access the data.
  • DBMS also provide the method for maintaining the integrity of stored data, running security and users access, and recovering information if the system fails
  • Many DBMS also include a graphics component that enables you to output information in the form of graphs and charts. Database and database management system are essential to all areas of business, they must be carefully managed.
Furthermore, many people nowadays buy a product using the internet. Such as buying a buying a clothes http://www.zalora.com/   or http://www.zalora.com.ph/ and many more. The company will need a database to set a program that enables them to store, modify and extract an information of the customers.

4. WHY ORGANIZATION WOULD WANT TO INTEGRATE ITS DATABASE?

Data integration refers to the organization’s inventory of data and information assets as well as the tools, strategies and philosophies by which fragmented data assets are aligned to support business goals.

Company want to integrate its database because they will connect, communicate, dealing and having relation with its customer everyday. Everyday its customers will open the webpage and search anything appear on the page.
For the company of zalora.com they will need to using the database because it's deal with different country from around the world.
Therefore, if the product still available or not available the supplier must inform the customers immediately.Publish the information on the web page to make the customers realize that the product exist or not in the market. Then, when the customers got information they will not too disappointed and not waiting too long. Customers satisfy, the business relationship between sellers and customers will be good because customers will trust the company and will buy the product more often.
